![]() After graduating from Illinois Wesleyan University with a B.F.A. in art, Chris realized that he needed to find a way to make photography a career. After pounding the pavement with his portfolio, he met Steven E. Gross who opened his eyes to the way wedding photography could be done. Chris then decided to give photographing weddings a chance. In Chris’s opinion, there is no better poetic way to capture a wedding than using black & white film and producing fiber-based prints that last generations.
This artistic approach has allowed him to shoot weddings for designers, architects, writers and artists, who make up a network of people that trust his eye. As you can see from the client list, this network of wedding clients has allowed his business to grow a commercial and editorial portfolio.
Chris also loves working with people. He cares about them as if he’s part of the family, so the natural outgrowth of his wedding photography seemed to be family portraits. His ever-growing business has expanded to a storefront studio where he now also shoots portraits of pregnancy, infants, families, and even pets. Capturing the unique character of the subject is Chris’s primary goal, and he hopes that people will count on him to be the storyteller for their lives for many years to come.
